Cut but not severed

Insufficient laser power:

Aging of the laser generator, damage to internal components, or unstable power supply can all lead to a decrease in the output laser power. Additionally, dust, stains, or damage on the surfaces of optical components such as mirrors and lenses in the laser beam path can cause laser energy loss, reducing the actual power applied to the tubing and preventing it from being fully melted.

Focus position deviation:

During prolonged use, the mechanical structure of the laser pipe cutting machine may shift or become loose, or the automatic focus adjustment system may malfunction, causing the focus position to deviate. This prevents the laser energy from concentrating on the area of the pipe to be cut, resulting in insufficient cutting depth.

Auxiliary gas abnormalities:

Insufficient gas pressure prevents the effective removal of molten metal residue, which can reattach to the cut surface and obstruct subsequent cutting. Excessive gas flow may disperse the laser energy and reduce cutting capacity. Additionally, insufficient gas purity, containing impurities, can also affect cutting performance.

Impact of pipe material and thickness:

When the pipe material does not meet the preset cutting parameters of the equipment, or the pipe thickness exceeds the maximum cutting capacity of the equipment, it is easy to encounter problems with cutting. For example, when cutting high-reflectivity metal pipes, the laser energy will be reflected to a large extent, resulting in a reduction in effective energy.

Cutting speed too fast:

The cutting speed must be matched with the laser power, tube material, and thickness. If the cutting speed is too fast, the laser will not have enough time to fully melt the tube, resulting in an incomplete cut.

Low cutting accuracy

Improper laser beam adjustment:

Parameters such as the focal length, position, and angle of the laser beam have a significant impact on cutting accuracy. If these parameters are not adjusted accurately, the cut surface may become uneven or even result in cutting deviations.

Uneven pipe surface:

If the pipe surface has oil stains, oxidation layers, or unevenness, it will affect the focusing effect of the laser beam, thereby affecting cutting accuracy.

Poor cutting surface quality

Cutting burrs:

Inaccurate focal position, cutting speed that is too fast or too slow, insufficient laser power, and inappropriate auxiliary gas parameters can all cause burrs on the cut surface.

Cracks appear:

Improper control of the heat-affected zone during the cutting process, high temperatures cause oxidation and discoloration of the pipe surface, which may result in cracks, affecting the performance and appearance of the pipe.

Unstable or inaccurate pipe cutting length

Loose or inaccurate positioning of the front stop:

The condition and positioning accuracy of the front stop affect the length of the cut pipe. If the front stop is loose or positioned inaccurately, the cut length will be inaccurate.

Poor contact of conductive devices:

Poor contact of conductive devices may affect the normal operation and control of the equipment, resulting in unstable or inaccurate pipe cutting lengths.
